L.D college of Engineering, more commonly known as LDCE was set up in the year 1948, and is one of the oldest and the most well known engineering colleges situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Located in Rajkot, Gujarat Technological University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), LDCE has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ grade with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.05. Having established in the year 1948 as the first self-financed engineering college in Gujarat, LDCE has an unmatched tradition of imparting quality technical education since the last seventy two years. According to NIRF 2023, L.D. College of Engineering was ranked 74th among engineering colleges in India.
The institute provides the undergraduate B.E. programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering streams. Other courses such as Masters of Technology (M.Tech.), Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) are also available in the different specializations of engineering and technology. The selection procedure includes national level aptitude tests like GATE, GUJCET and IIT-JEE, or LDCE’s own entrance examination as per the discretion of the institute.
Companies such as Larsen & Toubro InfoTech, Microsoft, Amazon, IBM and Tata Consultancy Services have partnered with LDCE for placements, industrial internships, training and research opportunities. The institutes’ placement cell arranges both on and off campus recruitments for the students and the highest paid offers are as high as Rs. 30 lakhs per annum. The institute has been achieving the placement rate of over 80% in various sectors within the average salary package of rs 7 lakhs per annum. Samsung, Google, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft are a few of the companies that offer jobs to LDCE graduates, in their software, manufacturing, and research divisions.
