Vikram University is one of the state universities primarily situated in the city of Ujjain of Madhya Pradesh and was established in the year 1957. Within the recent past, the institution received an ‘A’ grade from the NAAC and is accredited by UGC, as well as ranked 101-150 in India according to the NIRF Rankings 2023. With a vision to provide affordable and efficient education in the region, it offers in excess of 100 UG, PG and Ph.D programmes across faculties of arts, science, commerce, education, engineering and more spanning over more than 300 affiliated colleges where in over 1.5 lakh students get enrolled every year.
The university teaches various programmes and courses from all faculties such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, MCA, MBBS, Law and integrated courses. The admission process of UG programmes is competitive and students are offered admission based on their performance in the qualifying examination. For PG courses, admission is through relevant bachelor’s degree and clearing tests such as Vikram University PET. There are two examination sessions and they are conducted in the months of March- May and November- December respectively. It is the belief of the management that the application forms for admission in the 2024 academic session will be out by May 2023 on the university’s website. The process involves registration, document confirmation, seat allotment, collection of fees and enrolment of students.
More than 300 reputed companies and leading recruiters like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, ICICI, Axis Bank etc visit the campus every year for campus placement and offer jobs to over 3000 graduated students in the fields of IT, Banking, Education and Pharma etc. For freshers, the salary packages vary with an average salary package of Rs. 3-5 lakhs per annum. The university has an active placement and training cell to train the students to develop employability skills and also to provide training to the students in search of relevant jobs to keep the placement record above 80% since last five years.
