The National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra (NIT Kurukshetra) from India is recently one of the country's top five public engineering and technology universities. NIT Kurukshetra was formerly known as the Regional Engineering College which was was founded in 1963 and attained institution of national importance status and thereby renamed to the NIT Kurukshetra in 2002.
By 2024, NIT Kurukshetra has been eagerly striving to be in the top 10 NIT colleges in India. It runs a University level and Postgraduate programs covering a wide multiplicity of engineering disciplines ranging from Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Electronics. For BTech programs: Cleared 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of either, or Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
For MTech programs: Graduating with a degree in subject based on specialization from recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for the SC/ST). In some case, GATE score is one of the mandatory criteria for some program to be selected.
For MSc programs: Bachelor’s Degree is in the relevant filed with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST). On top of that, some of the programs are approved upon O/L certification of AMIE or equivalent examination.
For PhD: Masters degree in engineering/technology/science with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST), it will be necessary to hold a valid GATE/NET qualification.
NIT Kurukshetra has a plethora of courses for instance some of them are BTech in Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, among others. Besides that, it has MTech and MSc programs in subjects like Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and other discipline. Some of the management programs assured are MBA and MCA.
