Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, commonly referred to as AUD, is a state funded university of public sector situated in Delhi, India. AUD had its start in 2007 as an Act-of-the-Parliament institution aimed to conduct research and offer programs that are interdisciplinary, innovative and socially relevant. At present, the university consists three schools, namely, School of Liberal Studies, School of Letters, and School of Undergraduate Studies. At the moment, the BA (Hons) History and the MA in Sociology are the most popular courses offered.
The curriculum of BA history encompasses ancient, medieval, and modern Indian history along with interdisciplinary aspects. The MA Sociology program covers the fundamental knowledge of sociological theory and methodology. During the winter session of 2023-24, exams are due around mid-December 2023 and for the monsoon session of 2024, in late June 2024.
The selection of students into master’s programs at AUD for the 2024 academic year is expected to start from mid- March to mid- April 2024. Entrance exam scores are the primary criteria for admissions. The online registration process will begin from the university website where applicants would fill an application form and upload their documents. The entrance test will involve MCQ which should be a test of general awareness, analytical skills and subject knowledge. Shortlisted candidates will have their results declared in May-June 2024, and they would then have to appear for an interview round prior to their final admissions.

Step 1 : To be eligible for admission at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, applicants must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in relevant stream from a recognized Board/University with minimum aggregate marks depending on the program. For undergraduate programs, minimum aggregate marks required are often 50-60%.
Step 2 : For postgraduate programs, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with minimum aggregate marks again depending on program, usually 50-60% from a recognized University.
Step 3 : For MPhil and PhD programs, candidates are required to hold a Master's degree in the relevant subject with minimum 55% aggregate marks. Additionally, candidates need to qualify various national/state level exams like NET/SLET/GATE etc. to be eligible for research programs.
