CDLU is a state university situated in Sirsa City of Haryana state in north India. It came into existence in 2003 by Act no. 16 of 2003 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly and then it has become the first preference of the students. The university has got NAAC accreditation from 2022 with ‘A’ grade, which underlines its higher educational excellence involving architectural infrastructure and focus on academic and research activities. The CDLU was placed in the 101-150 NIRF rankings 2023 among the Indian universities.
Currently the university consists of various faculties and disciplines offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in arts, commerce, sciences, computer applications, engineering and technology, education, law and other disciplines. Among the most preferred courses offered by CDLU are Technology, Management, Business, Arts, Commerce, Education, and law. The university follows the semester system and holds its examinations in November- December and in May- June respectively. The admission process for the 2024 batch for the different B school programs are likely to start in May 2023. Students can apply either online or offline by submitting the details in the application form given along with the application form, and take CUET or any other entrance exam as per the norms of the desired program.
Placements and trainings at CDLU are carried out with the help of an independent placement and internship cell which helps in the recruitment of students. Some of the reputed organizations that have recruited the students from CDLU in the previous years include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, Byjus & Decathlon etc., wherein the average salary offered to the undergraduate students was in the range of 3-7 LPA and the postgraduate students were offered in the range of 5-10 LPA. Practical training stipend can go up to Rs. 15,000/- per month and the highest salary package available at CDLU is nearly 15 LPA. The placement rate has continued to be more than 80 percent every year for the last 5 years, which is indicative of its good linkage with industry.

Chaudhary Devi Lal provides an efficient placement cell for its students of all courses offered by the university. The renowned firms which actively engage in campus placement are Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, HCL Technologies, and Tech Mahindra. The maximum salary package provided by various organizations in the last few years was 18 lakh per annum by American Express company. The average salary package which is offered by the company can be Rs 4000/- to Rs 6000/- per annum. The university has carved a niche for itself in terms of placements as the number of students placed has increased and over 60% of the eligible students got placed in reputed companies in the 2022 placement drive making it evident of high employment rate for the university graduates.
