DIT has been established in 1997 and is spread over 8.5 acres of land, it provides PhD programs in engineering sciences, science, humanities, and management disciplines. The B.Tech and M.Tech entry to the full-time and part-time PhD programme of DIT starts from the year 2024 and one has to appear for a national level entrance tests such as GATE/NET or an institute level written examination followed by an interview test. Application should be made by the candidates having Master’s degree in the relevant branch with minimum of 55% marks.
Departments of research for PhD are computer and software electronics and electrical engineering mechanical and civil engineering chemistry and physics mathematics and computer science environment and earth sciences economics. English language and literature and management. Some of the chosen scholars are allowed to engage the experienced faculty in sponsored research activities in the available DIT research infrastructure such as innovation labs, centres of excellence etc. Financial support through research fellowships is also offered to excellent PhD candidates as per the institute policies. The doctoral research program is aimed at offering the latest research techniques and skills to the students in order to build up analytical research skills in their specific field of research for producing new and innovative ideas.

1. Some of the general requirements to be checked include the educational qualification, the scores of the entrance test etc.
2. Propose research area and potential supervisor from the list of faculties provided in the institute website.
3. Application form can be downloaded when the notification is released and this usually happens in the months of May up to June.
4. Complete and sign form in presence of faculty representative, attach required documents like transcripts, a research proposal, etc.
5. Appear for entrance test and or interview as per the schedule provided by the institute, mostly in the month of July.
6. Look for admission list when out in August and enroll if you are among the lucky ones to be selected.
7. Apply for the research plan and conduct coursework and research as soon as one joins the program.
