The requirements consist of an application form on the internet, a written test and interview. It means the aspirant should not be less than 60% aggregate mark in their master’s degree of science, arts, commerce or engineering but 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Science discipline candidates are required to have GATE/CSIR-NET/JRF qualification and engineering disciplines candidates require score card of GATE.
It is to be noted that the registrations for the positions commence in the month of January 2024 on the official website of IIT Indore. Computer based tests are conducted in different cities which include April-May. The interview takes place in June-July of the year and the final selection list of the schools is determined in August 2024. Out of the latest batch of full-time scholars, some scholars are being offered ₹31,000 per month assistantship and hostel facility in the university. Duration of this program cannot exceed 6 years. It includes research topics in different specializations like Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics etc. offered by the Schools / Departments of the institute. Other amenities provided are well equipped laboratory, library, computational facilities and there are options to publish research papers of high standard.

2. Choose a research topic of your interest and declare potential research supervisor
3. Bring along any of the following documents, proposal to be submitted in line with the guidelines and statement of purpose and bio-data.
4. Sit for a written exam and/or interview if the candidate has been selected after submitting an application for the position.
5. Submit transcripts, letters of recommendation if the program requires them
6. Don’t apply in person or through a third party use the correct online application process before the cut off date.
7. After the selection process is over, admission confirmation is given.
8. Finalize all admission processes by paying for fees before the due dates.
