Davangere University has advertised its full-time and part-time Ph.D. admission for each year in faculties of science, arts, commerce, engineering, and education. The admission notification is usually being done early January through the university website and some Newspaper publications. It’s mandatory for the candidates to have passed their postgraduation with at least a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade. Further, Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/Cat-1 category get an additional 5% in marks. Apart from the basic requirements, to get admitted to the PhD program at Davangere University, the candidates have to face an entrance test, and an interview as well.
It is a multiple choice examination that aims at assessing research ability, subject matter content and analysis skills. Applicants who have satisfied the above tests are required to attend an interview and those who perform well in both the tests are offered provisional admission to the PhD programs depending on the available vacancies in their respective institutions and qualified tests and reservation policies. To proceed with the thesis, admitted scholars are required to complete the mandatory course first, while being supervised by a specific Research Supervisor. The total time required for completion of programme of Davangere PhD is a minimum of 3 years accompanied by the coursework and the open defence of the thesis. A scholar is awarded fellowship as funds during his/her doctorate studies at the university and it is paid on monthly basis.
