Sardar Patel University (SPU), located at Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat is a University of Gujarat which provides opportunity to the students to do PhD in different field. Despite the fact that SPU is a private university, the admission process for the PhD batch that will start in 2024 should be launched in mid-2023.
The essential requirements for the candidates willing to enroll themselves for a PhD degree at SPU include that the candidate has to possessed postgraduate degree with minimum 55% marks. They will be required to write an entrance examination which will be administered by the university and will also be followed by an interview. It is proposed to conduct an entrance test in the form of a multiple choice examination where questions that will be asked would include questions to test the research ability, subject knowledge and analytical ability of the candidate. The candidates who have applied on merit will be shortlisted and then called for interview and the candidates‘ potential and their research interests will be assessed.

1. Often it is required to specify the subject/department you are interested in, as well as the research area. Searching for a suitable supervisor: Considering the fact that Ph.D. research is all about identifying a research problem and developing a solution for the same, it is imperative to look for a supervisor whose research interest aligns with one’s own.
2. It is also important to warrant the requirements for educational qualification and the entrance examination as provided by Sardar Patel University. You must have done your postgraduate degree and the minimum pass percentage that you should have secured is 55%.
3. Take the entrance examination that is spearheaded by the University in the period May-June 2024. There could be cases where some departments have extra written tests for their students.
4. For admission, if qualified, obtain the application form and prospectus in August-September 2024 either through downloading from the University website or by obtaining a hard copy from the University by paying the required fees.
5. Some of the documents to submit include but not limited to the following; Passport sized photograph, Application form with personal information, Educational qualifications, Employment history, Research proposal and any other document as may be required.
6. Enclose the application form with documents and fees of the University and ensure it’s submitted to the Registrar office of the University before October 2024.
