National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) is a prôcee and exam for commènce medical (MBBS), dental (BDS) and ayurveda (BAMS) degree in India. The Aspirants to MBB degree can apply for NEET UG and only the students who score the requisite marks in the test through NTA are admitted into MBB course. Their curriculum is based on class 11th and class 12th NCERT curriculum. It is arguably one of the most examination of this level.
In the year 2024 a record of 18 lakh candidates took up the exam which was conducted at 3,570 different centres across 547 cities within India and some other cities in abroad. The exam comprises of 200 multiple choice questions for which one must get 720 marks within three hours. NTA announced the results on the same day following the declaration of the results on September 7, 2022.
NEET UG notification for admission to MBBS courses requires the applicant having at least 50th percentile but for BDS/BAMS course admission, the applicant is supposed to have at least 40th percentile to clear the exam.
