The Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant exam is an examination organised by the Indian Coast Guard to recruit Assistant Commandant officers every year. The test known also as the Coast Guard forces Indian examination is one of the most popular in the country to select officers. Basically the exam has three parts that a candidate has to go through; written test, interview, and medical examination. The written examination comprise multiple choices questions that cover areas such as mathematics, general knowledge, reasoning, English and aptitude. Those candidates who get through the written examination are called for group interview which is an evaluation of personality and mental fitness. Lastly, from all the candidates that have been vetted, short-listed candidates are subjected to a comprehensive medical examination before employment.
The Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant exam is usually held every year, but the next exam is anticipated to be held in 2024. The details of the exam are however to be provided by the Indian Coast Guard a few months to the actual examination. There are a lot of students who take this exam each year to compete for few vacancies available for this profession. The competition is intense. As for the result declaration, it also takes about 2-3 months after writing the exam. From this pool, candidates are then screened and finally trained before being commissioned as Assistant Commandants in the Indian Coast Guard forces. The selected officers are posted all over the extensive coast line of India and few of them are sent on deputation to Indian navy.
