The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a highly competitive exam in India, jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It works
GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is the National Level Entrance examination conducted by the IITs/IISc on a rotational basis. The exam especially focuses on students’ knowledge of different subject areas of most undergraduate courses in engineering and sciences. GATE scores are used for the entrance into the M.Tech, M.Phil and PhD courses in IITs, IISc and other premier institutes. Besides, PSUs also hire engineers at the entry level, for which GATE score is considered an important factor.
In the case of the GATE exam 2023, the sections that shall be represented in the pattern of the exam are the objective type of questions and numerical ability as well as the general aptitude section. This exam is taken once in a year and is a 3hrs duration for which it is conducted in several cities in India. As for GATE 2024, the dates of the exams are still to be released but it’s important to know that it will be held every year in the first or second week of February.
