GATE CE is an entrance competitive examination organized for admission to postgraduate courses in engineering, technology, and architecture offered by well-established institutions in India. It allows the candidates to apply for admissions and scholarships for post graduate education in Institutes funded by Ministry of Education and other departments. The GATE 2023 was released on 16th of March 2023.
The GATE CE paper assesses the general aptitude and the engineering aptitude of candidates in various areas of the civil engineering field such as engineering mechanics, strength of materials, structural analysis and design, geotechnical engineering, fluid mechanics and hydraulics, transportation engineering, environment engineering, surveying, and others. The examination is in form of a computer based test and is set for a total of three hours and is comprehensive of 100 marks. As for the GATE CE exam for 2024, it will be held on February 4 in 2023. The application process usually starts in the month of September depending on the program.
