The All India Selection Test (AIST) is an entrance exam held at a national level by the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) which is an autonomous institution organized by the Government of India for admissions into the undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to the footwear and leather industry. The test of FDDI AIST is 2-hour long and pen and paper based that are designed to measure quantitative ability, communication skill, reasoning ability and general awareness of applicants. This test happens on an annual basis in every April across the nook and cranny of the India.
After going through the first phase which is based on merit, four candidates each will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds for the second phase before the final selection. The AIST examination for the next year 2024 is likely to be held in the middle of the month April 2023 in second week. Results of AIST 2023 is likely to be illuminated on May 2023 on the official FDDI website – fddiindia.com. Admitted candidates will receive confirmation regarding their admission to one of the FDDI campuses in Noida, Kolkata, Chennai, Fursatganj, Chhindwara, Jodhpur, Banur, Ankleshwar, Patna, Hyderabad and Guna. The FDDI AIST can be considered as an entry of the footwear as well as leather industry of India for those who wish to aspire for a career in the industry.
