National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] Selection Criteria

  1. Educational Qualifications:

    • Applicants should have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
    • They should have obtained a minimum percentage or CGPA in their 10+2 examination, which may vary depending on the program and category.
  2. Entrance Exam Score:

    • NIFTEM often conducts its own entrance examination for B.Tech programs, such as the All India Entrance Examination (AIEEA). Alternatively, it may accept scores from national-level engineering entrance exams like JEE Main.
    • Candidates are typically required to meet a minimum cutoff score in the relevant entrance exam.
  3. Academic Performance:

    • In addition to the entrance exam score, academic performance in the 10+2 examination is also considered. A high percentage or CGPA in the qualifying examination can enhance an applicant's chances of selection.
  4. Counseling/Seat Allotment:

    • Shortlisted candidates based on entrance exam scores and academic performance are usually invited to participate in a counseling or seat allotment process.
    • During counseling, candidates may have the opportunity to choose their preferred B.Tech specialization based on availability and merit.
  5. Reservation Quotas:

    • NIFTEM may follow government-mandated reservation quotas for different categories (e.g., SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD). Candidates belonging to these categories may have specific admission criteria and reservation benefits.
  6. Merit List:

    • After considering all the above factors, NIFTEM typically compiles a merit list of selected candidates for admission to various B.Tech programs.
  7. Acceptance of Offer:

    • Selected candidates are required to accept the admission offer, pay the required fees, and complete the enrollment process as per the instructions provided by NIFTEM.
