Vocational Lateral Entry Test

The VOCLET test is a national-level entrance test which is held for making students eligible for the vocational courses at different places in India. It signifies this test is taken for entrance in vocational education and is conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). The board examination gives to students who pass at the class 10 examination, the chance to enroll for the diploma or certificate level vocational programmes in the streams of agriculture, engineering & technology, business & commerce, health & paramedical, and home science etc offered by the participating institutions. 

The VOCLET examination will be held biannually - on May for year that will begin in July and on November for year that will begin in January next year. For applicants of 2024 admission cycle, the tentative dates for the exams are 15th May 2023 and 12th November 2023 respectively. The exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 tests students' ability to think analytically, to do the arithmetic in their head, and to read and write in both English and the local languages; Paper 2 tests students' domain specific skills that match with the vocational stream they have written on the application form. It is usually less than 20 days to declare the results on NIOS official website after the test date. Students who have been chosen have to take part in both procedures, that of counseling and the ones that relate to admission.
