Global Media Common Entrance Test

GMCET, also known as the Goa Common Entrance Test, turns out to be the state-level test which is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa, for admission into professional degree courses like engineering and pharmacy which are offered by several colleges in Goa. GMCET or Guru Nanak College Engineering Entrance Test is a competitive exam that is held annually in most cases, in the month of May. 

Students in the exam are placed under testing of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, which is up to the 12th grade curriculum. There is a separate test (version) based on streams that apply to them. The exam is handled away as by paperless system. The exam length is 3 hours overall. The subject specific paper has objective MCQ type questions as well. This is a No negative marking policy.

The marks of student’s in the entrance exam are used by higher level teaching institutions of engineering and pharmacy to make merit lists and to fix the admissions. In the year 2023 itself, over 5000 students went through the rigorous examination process for GMCET. The outcomes were also declared on the first week  of June 2023, on the official website.

For GMCET 2024, a tentative schedule has been scheduled to include - admission, application forms etc. will be out in the month of March 2023. The month of May of the year 2024 in the second or third week would be the date when the exam would be held. I am awaiting the exam result in early June 2024. Previously, the tents have set up the schedule according to the date plan in the previous years. There will be a formal letter to guarantee the right days.
