Diplomate of National Board Post Diploma Centralised Entrance Test

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is responsible for conducting an annual entrance test for admission into the various courses of the upgraded Post Diploma DNB broad specialty and super specialty Diploma (PDCET). The exam purpose is to gauge level of competence and clinical decision-making power that an candidate will require to work in the respective broad specialty or super specialty domain. 

The DNB PDCET comprises 300 multiple choice questions that must be solved within three-and-a-half hours on computer. The exam papers candidates on subjects such as fundamental practical aspects of the speciality, clinical features and investigation, as well as treatment protocols, social aspects, recent advances and applied aspects of the speciality. The difficulty level in the question paper increases gradually from the basic concepts to the advanced stages.

DNB PDCET candidates should have postgraduate diploma in the pertinent specialization or super-specialty. The DNB PDCET 2024 results are supposed to be released the third week of May 2024 on the official web site of natboard.edu.in. Generally, the application process commences in the month of January while the dates for DNB PDCET 2024 entrances exams are expected to be held in the month of May 2024.

DNB PDCET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Criteria Details
Nationality Indian citizen
Education Must have passed the final examination leading to the award of PG diploma from a university/institute recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI).
Registration Must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the respective State Medical Council (SMC).
Date of Result The result of the final examination for the said Post Graduate Diploma qualification should have been declared on or before February 28, 2023.
Age Limit There is no upper age limit for appearing for the DNB PDCET 2023.

DNB PDCET Overview 2024 FAQs

DNB PDCET is a national entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in India for admission to DNB courses in various medical specializations after completing a postgraduate diploma.

Candidates must have completed a recognized postgraduate diploma in the respective specialty to be eligible for the DNB PDCET exam. Additionally, they must have completed the required period of training by the specified date.
