BMS stands for Bachelor of Management Studies, is an under graduate course, normally being taken for three years with six semesters and having the core curriculum in management. The course curriculum of MBA comprises of subjects like finance, marketing, organization behavior, business economics, statistical tools, operations management, human resource management, information systems etc Some of the institutes provide an option for the specialization in the fields such as marketing, finance, human resource, operation etc in the final semester of MBA program. The course work of BMS degree provides the knowledge, skills and tools to manage different areas of business. Students also go for a summer internship in organizations of their choice to expose them to practice in the different Organizations.
The entrance exam accepted for admission to BMS programmes by various universities and institutes are National level tests like CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) and NPAT (NMIMS Programs After Twelfth) or State level test MHT-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test). The scores achieved by the students in class XII examinations conducted by the 10+2 board are also considered while admitting the students Many of the institutes also take students through GD and PI rounds. An important point in the case of BMS is that some universities also provide BMS through distance education for which students can directly apply for admission after meeting the required criteria.
