The Bachelor of Arts in Rural Development (BA RD) is 3-year length program where the students were taught a knowledge cluster that is required to uplift the social and economic status of villages in India. 

It was only in the 70s that the academic program started attracting attention among universities in the India after inclusion of special rural program and community development programs by the government post independence. The BA RD program provides cross-functional knowledge capital from classes like microeconomics, macroeconomics, sociology, agriculture, cooperation, and extension.

1. 10+2 passed or equivalent from a valid board with a minimum score of 50%. Eligible candidates are required to have obtained the 10+2 exam passing certificate from any board including Humanities, Science and Commerce.

2. The age limit restriction becomes irrelevant as no significant age limit has been mentioned by the universities for admission in this course. Students who meet the 10+2 minimum educational requirement can apply for admission in any age group. Furthermore, candidates should match minimum scores to be considered. 

3. Reserved candidates belong to SC, ST and OBC have to at least compete 45% in 10+2 post as per university or government rules. The minimum qualifying percentage is relaxed in favor of reserved classes, according to the reservation rules published by the government.

4. Apart from those who are applying for their higher secondary examination, students in their 10+2 can equally be eligible for the application. Therefore, nominees should not forget to attach their last 10+2 exam scorecard at the time of the admission confirmation. The meeting of the necessary requirements is a must even for the candidates involved whether they appear or not.

5. While in some universities throughout the country, there are entrance exam devoted specifically to the BA Rural Development program. SAT: The Scholastic Assessment Test -SAT- evaluates critical reading, writing, and mathematical abilities related to the college level studies, including rural development.

ACT: American College Testing (ACT) is administered in English, math, reading, and science, used as a college readiness gauge for developmental implementation.

GRE: The Graduate Record Examination rates verbal comprehension, quantitative abilities, and writing ability, important for BA admissions in rural development.

Rural Development Aptitude Test: These questionnaires, especially tailored to test the levels of knowledge on rural matters, agricultural economics, community development, and related subjects.
